67. Bring Desktop To Life With DreamScene
DreamScene is part of Windows Vista Ultimate
extras and makes your desktop more interesting and
entertaining by allowing the user to incorporate
video into the desktop background.
Not only is it possible to run DreamScene's own
videos on the desktop, you can also run video's of
your own choice too. Your own videos may not be as
smooth as the DreamScene collection but they work
all the same. The only stipulation is that you must
be running Windows Vista Ultimate, have a graphics
card that supports Aero, have DreamScene installed
(available via Ultimate Extras) and the video file
must be in either WMV or MPEG format.
To bring your desktop to life, proceed as
follows:
1/ Right Click on your
desktop.
2/ From the Menu that appears,
Click Personalize.
3/ In the Personalize window,
Click the Desktop background
option.
4/ The Choose a desktop background window
appears.
5/ From the Location drop down menu
box, Select Windows DreamScene to
display any DreamScene video content. Alternatively,
if you want to use a video of your own, Click the
Browse button and search for the
video you want to use. You can also use
Windows explorer to locate the video you
want to use. Once you have found the video in
Windows Explorer, Right click on it
and select the Set as desktop background
option.
6/Select the video you want to use from the
DreamScene or alternative video folder list and then
Click OK.
7/ Your video should now appear as your
desktop background.
